C2O Pacific represents our Pacific-based office operating out of Port Vila, Vanuatu. Our Scientists have over 50 years of relevant marine experience. We specialise in coastal resource management and conservation throughout the Pacific region and our partners range from local and international NGOs, regional agencies, governments and local communities.


Our projects include:

  • Marine Champion (Ranger) training in Vanuatu and Marshall Islands

  • Vanuatu crown-of-thorns starfish (COTS) control 

  • Vanuatu Coastal Adaptation Project - Phase 2 (VCAP-2) design

  • Building resilient communities in the South Fly District, Papua New Guinea 

  • Community-based adaptation to climate change in Western Province, Solomon Islands 

  • Marine habitat and finfish surveys and habitat mapping in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands

  • Assessing vulnerability of habitats, fisheries and aquaculture to climate change at a regional and national scale

  • Supporting development of sustainability policies in Wallis & Futuna

  • Supporting delivery of improved biodiversity and fisheries-associated livelihoods and well-being in New Ireland, PNG

  • Developing climate change strategies and response plans in Torres Strait and other island groups 

  • Developing snorkel trails and interpretive materials for eco-tourism
